And there it was, gone…
And there it was, gone…
May 05Another house hunting update. We’ve been having a hard time finding anything interesting lately. A lot of houses have come up that don’t offer a lot of value, and are priced high, too! Our realtor showed us one this morning that was really nice, and while expensive was at least worth the money. Unfortunately, in the less than 3 hours between us seeing the house and trying to get together with our realtor to make an offer, the house sold! Talk about a quick moving market!
It’s getting hard not to be discouraged by all this, and it’s going to be a bit of a challenge not to get stressed out over this whole situation, especially because the house we’re living in is conditionally sold. It’s easy to talk about trusting God, and taking comfort that He closed the door on that house today, so it probably wasn’t the one for us. It’s quite another thing to have to keep living it.
Thankfully, a couple scriptures come to mind… Matthew 6:27 “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” Isn’t it great how Jesus took time to address the issue of worrying quite directly? I guess it’s in our nature to try to control everything and worry about the things we can’t. The other scripture, one that’s been given to me many times, is Jeremiah 29:11 “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope [or a house!] and a future.'”
And now to see what a new day brings, after a few hours of shut-eye, that is!
